Defying Gravity: The Untold Story of Women's Gymnastics is a six-part series examining the highly competitive sport of elite and collegiate gymnastics through interviews with 40+ gymnasts, including former Olympic champions, current Olympic hopefuls, coaches and experts. The series celebrates the history and beauty of the sport while reckoning with an abusive culture that has long prioritized winning over the health of the athlete.  In intimate interviews, former athletes speak out about their experience with injuries, eating disorders, emotional and sexual abuse, and look to the next-generation of gymnasts to stop the cycle and enact positive, organizational change.
